Establishing a College Counseling Center
New York Academy held a workshop for college guidance counselors on May 12, 2018. The workshop took place online with teachers participating from about 1o different countries.
The main theme of the workshop was “Establishing a hybrid American school model for OVERSEAS schools.” Participants were also presented a sample college mentorship program for students from 6th through 11 grade.
Topics discussed on the workshop included:
– Establishing a college guidance department
– Implementing an honors & advance placement (ap) program
– Conducting official PSAT, SAT & SAT Subject tests regularly
– Becoming an SAT Exam Center (if possible)
– Investing in stem education
– After school clubs & athletics
-College mentorship program – 6th thru 11th grade

We are excited to share an important milestone in UPLIFT Academy’s growth: we will soon be moving to our new Learning Center on Washington Street in Newark. At the same time, our programs in Paterson will continue, and we remain committed to expanding our work there so we can serve even more students and families.
CPM Students Enjoy an Interactive Learning Experience at Liberty Science Center
UPLIFT Academy’s College Path Mentorship (CPM) students enjoyed an exciting day of learning and exploration at the Liberty Science Center. The visit gave students the opportunity to step outside the traditional classroom and discover science, technology, and innovation through interactive exhibits and hands-on experiences.
UPLIFT Academy Awarded $10,000 Grant from the Eisai USA Foundation to Support College Path Mentorship and Summer Math Camps
UPLIFT Academy is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the EISAI USA Foundation. This generous funding will support the College Path Mentorship Program, aimed at empowering and guiding students on their path to higher education.
