About UPLIFT Academy

UPLIFT Academy is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2005 with the mission of providing high-quality educational services to students in New Jersey, aiming to close the achievement gap caused by socioeconomic inequities. We currently offer targeted programs for 8th to 12th-grade students, helping them reach their highest academic and intellectual potential to succeed in educational and professional pursuits.

Our Programs

College Path Mentorship

The program offers quality, well-rounded educational experiences by equipping mentees with the academic and social skills needed for college success. The program offers free SAT prep, college readiness workshops, and mentorship to guide underserved high school students toward successful college admissions.

Summer Math Camps

The summer math camp offered by UPLIFT aims to assist students in strengthening their mathematical foundations, overcoming summer learning loss, and ultimately maximizing their high school academic success. Additionally, we want to narrow achievement gaps and develop students’ intellectual capacity to get ahead for the next school year.

STEM Education

UPLIFTS’s STEAM Education aims to heighten students’ interest and enhance their Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math skills. Our goal is to achieve this mission by igniting curiosity in students and establishing a life-long love for STEAM through our expertly designed, creative & fun curriculum.

STEAM Academies

Our Steam Academies, a franchisee of STEAM Works Studio, is uniquely focused on fostering and developing essential 21st Century and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) skills like Problem-Solving, Critical thinking, Creativity, and Collaboration in a hands-on and practical but fun learning environment. We and STEAM Works Studio believe that “Making” can transform how we all learn, from preschoolers to retirees.

Summer Math Camps Closing Ceremonies 2024

The Summer Math Camps for 2024 concluded with two closing ceremonies to honor the hard work and achievements of our students. The first one took place at our UPLIFT Academy office in Rochelle Park on Saturday, August 31, 2024, for the Seminary Baptist Church (SBC) students. The second was held at Masjid Fallahee in Newark on Saturday, September 14, 2024, for students from both Fallahee and Alaaka Association.

UPLIFT BBQ Party 2024

On August 24, 2024, UPLIFT Academy hosted a BBQ party at Alaaka Association for the students who participated in our programs at Masjid Fallahee and Alaaka. Around 25 students joined us for a day filled with reunion, joy, appreciation, and learning. Following the BBQ, two of our students delivered heartfelt presentations about their recent educational humanitarian trip to Tanzania

STEM Classes at YMCA Paterson

In an exciting partnership with YMCA Paterson, UPLIFT Academy offered an enriching 8-week STEM program for 1st through 5th grade students. The program, which focused on Nanobot Robotics and 3D design, engaged ten enthusiastic young learners. Through hands-on activities, students explored the exciting world of robotics, building small-scale robots and learning 3D modeling skills to bring their imaginative creations to life.

Summer Math Camp Strengthened Foundations, Empowering Student Success

Throughout July, UpLift Academy hosted its Summer Math Camp at two different locations, welcoming both high school and middle school groups. Each of the four groups—two high school and two middle school—embarked on a two-week journey of math exploration and personal growth, offering a vibrant and enriching experience for teens.
