Our first of the two College Application Bootcamps in 2022 was held on June 11-12, 2022 at Montclair State University. The Bootcamp aimed to prepare current juniors and some sophomores for college applications. 30 tenth and eleventh graders attended the two-day Bootcamp.
We meet every Saturday to discuss their transition out of high school, explore their college interests, and openly address their anxieties. I share with them my own struggles in applying to college and encourage them to keep a journal in order to learn more about themselves... After several weeks, my mentees vocalize feeling more prepared for their journey into college and that is all I could ask for.

Today we have started our “College Path Mentorship” program in partnership with the Masjid Fallahee Community of Newark. Fifteen 10th and 11th graders have enrolled in the program that will last until the end of this academic year.
