Annual Mentor and Teacher Training
On September 21st, UPLIFT Academy conducted a comprehensive training workshop for mentors and instructors involved in our College Path Mentorship (CPM) program and other educational initiatives.The event brought together passionate mentors and educators dedicated to empowering underserved students through innovative and impactful teaching practices.
CPM Guest Speaker at Fallahee and Alaaka
Our guest speaker, Iysha Arun, a graduate, visited the College Path Mentorship mentees at Fallahee and Alaaka in Newark on March 9th, 2024. Iysha provided insightful insights into the importance of setting achievable goals and how it contributes to academic success. Her advice has been incredibly beneficial for our students. Setting realistic and attainable goals enables individuals to accomplish meaningful results within a reasonable timeframe.
Parent Meetings at Alaaka and Masjid Fallahee
We held parent meetings at Alaaka Association on February 10th and at Masjid Fallahee on February 17th. These meetings marked a significant step towards strengthening ties between Uplift and parents, as well as enhancing parental involvement in the educational journey of their children.
Press Release: UPLIFT Receives $3,500 Grant from Novo Nordisk for STEAM Academies Project
UPLIFT Academy is excited to announce that it has been awarded a $3,500 grant from Novo Nordisk. This generous funding will support the STEAM Academies project, which includes a variety of courses in robotics, coding, and math during the academic year, as well as a summer math camp.

CPM Mentor Orientation 2021
College Path Mentorship Program's "Mentor Orientation" was held at NYA's Ridgewood office on Saturday October 16, 2021.
Mentorship for High School Students
Our free-of-charge College Path Mentorship Program aims to increase college attainment rates by students from high poverty areas of New Jersey and targets students who are enrolled in free or reduced lunch programs in their schools.
2021 Capacity-Building Grant Winner
With this award, NYA aims to encourage both AP students and the teachers across the state of New Jersey to pursue scholastic accomplishment in STEM education. 30 students will be awarded $250 and 15 teachers will be awarded $500 each.
Free SAT Course at PCSST
New York Academy (NYA) is offering free SAT course at the Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology (PCSST) for its students. Classes are held every Saturday and will continue for 3 months.
Capacity Building Grant
With this grant, New York Academy aims to contribute to the projects that build long-term capacity at schools in high-poverty areas in the state of New Jersey. $1,000 to $1,500 will be awarded to successful applicants.
