From Local Impact to Global Change: CPM Students’ Journey to Tanzania
In Summer 2024, two outstanding students from UPLIFT Academy’s College Path Mentorship (CPM) program embarked on a life-changing trip to Tanzania—a reward for their academic success, leadership, and commitment to community service. This journey began in February 2024, when the students launched a fundraising campaign to open water wells in rural Tanzania.
Press Release: UPLIFT Receives $3,500 Grant from Novo Nordisk for STEAM Academies Project
UPLIFT Academy is excited to announce that it has been awarded a $3,500 grant from Novo Nordisk. This generous funding will support the STEAM Academies project, which includes a variety of courses in robotics, coding, and math during the academic year, as well as a summer math camp.
Steam Academies Open House 2024
We are delighted to announce that the first Open House of our STEAM Academies in our new location will be held at 10.30 am on January 27, 2024. Come with your kid, connect with other parents, share the joy of your child’s learning journey, and discover the endless possibilities our STEAM Academies offer.
CPM Guest Speaker at Seminary Baptist Church and Union Baptist Church
Our guest speaker, Yusuf Kocaman, a recent graduate, who studied Computer Science at Princeton University, visited the College Path Mentorship mentees at Seminary Baptist Church in Paterson and Union Baptist Church in Passaic City.
Mentorship for High School Students
Our free-of-charge College Path Mentorship Program aims to increase college attainment rates by students from high poverty areas of New Jersey and targets students who are enrolled in free or reduced lunch programs in their schools.
2021 Capacity-Building Grant Winner
With this award, NYA aims to encourage both AP students and the teachers across the state of New Jersey to pursue scholastic accomplishment in STEM education. 30 students will be awarded $250 and 15 teachers will be awarded $500 each.
Free SAT Course at PCSST
New York Academy (NYA) is offering free SAT course at the Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology (PCSST) for its students. Classes are held every Saturday and will continue for 3 months.
Capacity Building Grant
With this grant, New York Academy aims to contribute to the projects that build long-term capacity at schools in high-poverty areas in the state of New Jersey. $1,000 to $1,500 will be awarded to successful applicants.
STEM AP Awards

Robotics Classes at PCSST
New York Academy (NYA) has started an after-school “Robotics Program” at the Paterson Charter School for Science and Technology (PCSST). Classes are held every Tuesday after the school and will continue for 7 weeks. Once a groups finishes the program, it will restart with new students.
