Establishing a College Counseling Center
New York Academy held a workshop for college guidance counselors on May 12, 2018. The workshop took place online with teachers participating from about 1o different countries.
The main theme of the workshop was “Establishing a hybrid American school model for OVERSEAS schools.” Participants were also presented a sample college mentorship program for students from 6th through 11 grade.
Topics discussed on the workshop included:
– Establishing a college guidance department
– Implementing an honors & advance placement (ap) program
– Conducting official PSAT, SAT & SAT Subject tests regularly
– Becoming an SAT Exam Center (if possible)
– Investing in stem education
– After school clubs & athletics
-College mentorship program – 6th thru 11th grade

Summer Math Camps Closing Ceremonies 2024
The Summer Math Camps for 2024 concluded with two closing ceremonies to honor the hard work and achievements of our students. The first one took place at our UPLIFT Academy office in Rochelle Park on Saturday, August 31, 2024, for the Seminary Baptist Church (SBC) students. The second was held at Masjid Fallahee in Newark on Saturday, September 14, 2024, for students from both Fallahee and Alaaka Association.
UPLIFT BBQ Party 2024
On August 24, 2024, UPLIFT Academy hosted a BBQ party at Alaaka Association for the students who participated in our programs at Masjid Fallahee and Alaaka. Around 25 students joined us for a day filled with reunion, joy, appreciation, and learning. Following the BBQ, two of our students delivered heartfelt presentations about their recent educational humanitarian trip to Tanzania
STEM Classes at YMCA Paterson
In an exciting partnership with YMCA Paterson, UPLIFT Academy offered an enriching 8-week STEM program for 1st through 5th grade students. The program, which focused on Nanobot Robotics and 3D design, engaged ten enthusiastic young learners. Through hands-on activities, students explored the exciting world of robotics, building small-scale robots and learning 3D modeling skills to bring their imaginative creations to life.
