You Can Change a Student’s Future

Dear Friends,

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones. This season always reminds me how fortunate we are to have a community that cares — and how, after we give thanks, we give back on Giving Tuesday.

Today, I want to share a story that truly captures what UPLIFT Academy tries to do for our students.

One of our CPM students came into the Summer Math Camp with a March SAT score of 1140. He showed up consistently, completed every assignment, and leaned on the mentorship offered to him. By August, he earned a 1320 — a remarkable 180-point increase in just a few months. His mother told me, “This program made my son believe in himself again. We could never have afforded something like this on our own.”

Stories like his are why we do this work.

And he is not alone. Another parent recently said, “The progress and improvements I’ve seen in my children are incredible. This program is a blessing to our community.”

A student shared, “I feel more ready for school now. UPLIFT helped me learn new topics and gain confidence.”

And one of our community partners summed it up perfectly: “UPLIFT brings trust, structure, and real impact. Families feel supported, and students show real growth.”

These voices speak to the heart of why UPLIFT Academy exists and why your support matters today.

As you know, all of UPLIFT’s programs — CPM, STEAM Academies, Summer Math Camps, tutoring, mentorship — are completely free for students from underserved communities. To meet the growing demand in Newark and Paterson where we currently serve, your Giving Tuesday contribution is vital. Today, on Giving Tuesday, every dollar helps us open doors for students who deserve every opportunity to thrive.
