At UPLIFT Academy, we believe student success reaches its fullest potential when UPLIFT, our community partners, and families work together in a spirit of shared responsibility and continuous communication. This collaborative approach creates a strong foundation where students are supported from all sides—academically, emotionally, and socially.
Recognizing parents as essential partners in this journey, we host several parent meetings throughout the academic year to maintain strong connections and open communication. These include orientation sessions before programs begin, mid-year check-ins, one-on-one calls as needed, and year-end certificate ceremonies.
In January 2025, we held dedicated parent meetings at each of our partner locations—Alaaka Association, Masjid Fallahee, Seminary Baptist Church in Paterson, and Masjid Abu Bakr—to strengthen this vital collaboration. These in-person meetings focused on our College Path Mentorship (CPM) and Math & Coding programs, providing key updates, setting shared expectations, and offering space for parent questions and feedback. For families unable to attend, we followed up with a Zoom session to ensure every voice was heard and every family remained engaged.
We place special emphasis on parental involvement because research consistently shows its critical role in improving student academic performance. At UPLIFT, our programs are rooted in a three-way partnership—UPLIFT, our host locations, and parents. When these three partners work in harmony, students don’t just learn—they flourish.
These January meetings were more than routine check-ins—they were a reaffirmation of our shared commitment to helping every student realize their full potential.
