NYA arranged a field trip for our College Path Mentorship students at Masjid Fallahee to reward their hard work. As a surprise to our students, we rented a limo in order to transport them back and forward.
One of our High School senior students, Ahmed Quedraogo, has officially been accepted into Rutgers New Brunswick! NYA has awarded him with $100-gift card. We congratulate him and wish him continued success in his college life.
New York Academy donated and installed Smart Boards to 3 of its partners. These Smart Boards help elevate the level of education provided to students by allowing the mentors to easily provide required Information, media, and class materials.

Our signature program College Path Mentorship’s 2022-23 sessions started last weekend in two locations, the Cultural Integration and Arts Association of Newark and the Masjid Fallahee.
We are pleased to announce that our College Path Mentorship Program has started with "parent meetings." The first meeting was held at Masjid Fallahee on Tuesday, October 4th, 2022.
Our first free "Summer Math Camp" was held between August 1 and 12, 2022 at Alaaka Association, Newark. 9 students attended the camp that started at 9 am and ended at 1 pm daily. Students were also offered snacks and lunch for free. The camp was a success.
Our first of the two College Application Bootcamps in 2022 was held on June 11-12, 2022 at Montclair State University. The Bootcamp aimed to prepare current juniors and some sophomores for college applications. 30 tenth and eleventh graders attended the two-day Bootcamp.
We meet every Saturday to discuss their transition out of high school, explore their college interests, and openly address their anxieties. I share with them my own struggles in applying to college and encourage them to keep a journal in order to learn more about themselves... After several weeks, my mentees vocalize feeling more prepared for their journey into college and that is all I could ask for.
We are pleased to announce that the "STEAM Academies for Low-Income Communities" project has started in partnership with Seminary Baptist Church of Paterson.
