ESL Courses for Newcomers at Reduced Tuition
New York Academy has partnered with Center for New Americans to teach English to its newcomer members.
America has always offered lots of opportunities to newcomers – whether they are young or old; women or men; child or adult; or immigrant or asylum seeker. They all bring with them their cultural richness and come with skills that help with easily adapting and starting a new life. However, most of them lack one thing in common: English language.
Learning and speaking English is crucial in the process of their settlement and integration with the larger society. It is a fact that knowing English makes life easier for new Americans and helps them find better jobs. That’s why NYA has started “ESL Courses for Newcomers” project.
“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to him in his language, that goes to his heart”
– Nelson Mandela.
How does the “ESL Courses for Newcomers” project work?
NYA realizes this important project through its own Nile Language School, which is the leader in providing English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction and prides itself on delivering the highest quality ESL education.
Nile Language School is recognized by the CEA (Commission on English Language Accreditation), the State of New Jersey Department of Education, and New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development (LWD) for delivering the highest quality English as a Second Language instruction. NLS is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.
Once they enroll in Nile Language as part of the “ESL Courses for Newcomers” project, newcomers pay a significantly reduced tuition whether they enroll in an intensive or a semi-intensive program both of which implement Nile’s accredited curriculum.
