Approximately 30 ambitious College Path Mentorship (CPM) students capped off their standard Saturday classes by embarking on an unforgettable visit to the historic campus of Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut. This powerful field trip, which took place on Saturday, November 15, 2025, marked a significant moment in UPLIFT Academy’s commitment to providing meaningful and motivating college exposure opportunities.
The experience began with a campus tour arranged through Yale Undergraduate Admissions. Guiding the group was a knowledgeable current Yale student, who offered valuable, first-hand insights into the rigors of academic life, the vibrant campus culture, and the often-mystifying admissions process. The students walked the hallowed grounds, passing through iconic sites like the historic Old Campus, the breathtaking Sterling Memorial Library, and the majestic courtyards of the Residential Colleges. These architectural landmarks brought the possibility of an Ivy League education to life.
Students traveled from their respective CPM locations in New Jersey, departing right after their Saturday sessions. To ensure every student could participate without financial burden, UPLIFT Academy covered all costs associated with the trip, including transportation, lunch, and dinner. For many of them, this was their first visit to an Ivy League institution—an experience that provided more than just a tour. It broadened their perspective, strengthened their motivation, and helped them vividly visualize their future possibilities on a campus steeped in global history and academic excellence. The trip reinforced the core message of CPM: that institutions like Yale are within reach.
This inspirational journey underscores the mission of the College Path Mentorship program. This trip is one of the many ways CPM works to inspire our students to aim high, explore diverse academic environments, and build the confidence necessary as they prepare for rigorous college admission and long-term success.
