This summer, UPLIFT Academy expanded access to STEM education by launching a free Robotics program for middle school students from underserved communities in Newark, East Orange, Irvington, and surrounding areas.
In partnership with the New Spring Foundation and Masjid Ashab ul Yameen, the program ran Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. during two sessions in July and August 2025. Fifteen students explored robotics and hands-on engineering projects designed to spark creativity and critical thinking.
Following its strong success, the Newark Summer Robotics Program will become an annual part of UPLIFT’s academic pipeline — continuing to inspire the next generation of young engineers and innovators each summer.
