UPLIFT Academy’s College Path Mentorship (CPM) students visited Montclair University for a meaningful and motivating college trip on Saturday, April 26. Students from four partner locations joined the visit, making this a truly collaborative and community-centered experience.

The group was guided by a Montclair senior, who led students across campus while sharing insights about academic life, extracurricular opportunities, and the overall student experience. Throughout the tour, our students explored key areas of campus—including academic buildings, student spaces, and the university library.

At several stops, such as the library, students engaged in Q&A sessions with both our college counselor and the Montclair senior. These conversations gave students the chance to ask honest questions about majors, workload, financial aid, campus culture, and what it truly takes to succeed in college.

For many participants, this was their first time stepping onto a university campus. The visit allowed them to picture themselves in a college environment, strengthened their motivation, and helped them better understand the possibilities ahead.

College trips are an essential part of the CPM experience, providing students with firsthand exposure that informs their goals and empowers them to make confident decisions about their academic futures.
