We are pleased to announce that the “STEAM Academies for Low-Income Communities” project has started in partnership with Seminary Baptist Church of Paterson. NYA started a similar program in partnership with Oasis, in February 20222.
NYA staff extend their gratitude to Rev. Alfred Steele and Dr. Rozetta Schaeffer for their commitment to promoting STEM education in Paterson.
Six 6th to 8th graders enrolled in the academy that will last for 12 weeks. Fundamentals of Python will be instructed throughout the program.
STEAM Academies aims to heighten K-8 students’ interest and enhance their skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. Our goal is to achieve this mission by igniting curiosity in students and establishing a life-long love for STEAM through our expertly designed, creative & fun curriculum.
Tax-exempt non-profit organizations may apply for a partnership with New York Academy Educational Services.
One of the things that I’ve been focused on as President is how we create an all-hands-on-deck approach to science, technology, engineering, and math… We need to make this a priority to train an army of new teachers in these subject areas, and to make sure that all of us as a country are lifting up these subjects for the respect that they deserve.
